Cold wave grips Malakand |
| SWAT: The cold wave sweeping the high altitude areas of Malakand Division tightened its grip as mercury dipped further forcing the residents of upper areas to Mingora city, Geo News reported. Districts Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Shangla, Basham and Buner of Malakand were under grip of cold after snowfall on mountains. The people are coming down to warmer Mingora city. Daily life in these areas suffered a lot due to chilly weather as utilities face shortage. Medicines, clean drinking water, fuel and other necessary items become scarce in the region and to avoid such situation it is common practice of the people to move to lower areas. |
